  1. MUNK SPACE

a research platform for enquiries in aesthetic and ethical manifestations

  2. MUNK propose to create the centre for the experimental, interdisciplinary platform where voices and communities involved in the task of mothering and maternal ethics can connect. MUNK explore the various aspects of maternal consciousness, practices and the future of its possibilities in community settings. MUNK organise support groups, educational and creative projects and workshops. MUNK aims to articulate collectively how to place the maternal consciousness within the culture and politics - physically, symbolically, legally and economically. We want to create an experimental and co- disciplinary project where new and brave ways to bring about change on micro and macro levels of society could be theorised and experienced. We believe that the debate about the future of the mother/child dyad and its significance for the human subject and the society at large is crucial. We believe that art and writing in connection with our aims is a powerful mobilising force.

  3. MUNK will organise discussion groups and debates, creative amalgamations and exploits that will seek to mobilise the maternal ethics towards finding new and potent ways to think of various pressing issues our generation is confronted with. We want to discuss ecology, sustainability, health, politics and ethics of reciprocity in a context of matrixial ethics. MUNK Space is a creative platform where art, music, poetry and literature as ecriture feminine will be explored. We use Helene Cixous's (1975) term ecriture feminine to articulate the space where feminine writing, writing through motherhood will be explored.
